Fundação Getúlio Vargas

The “Fundação Getulio Vargas” – located at the Botafogo beach, Rio de Janeiro – has been recently expanded. The new addition was built on an 8,000 sqm site and was originally designed by the world-renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer. The new tower, attached to the old one – which was built back in the 60’s – has 19 floors, an esplanade and a multi-cultural center.

The building has a “triple A” certificate, which ensures high quality and technological standard in commercial buildings. It is also certified with “Selo Verde” which means that the building is sustainable and environmentally friendly.

The construction started in 2010 and was concluded in 2014. On its imposing façade, 5,000 sqm White Marble “Extra” were used. Inside, more than 3,000 sqm “Branco Ceará” quartzite were used on the floors and on the walls, as well as 1,000 sqm of “Pighes Marble”. All of them supplied by Gramil.
