Environment A deep concern with the environment has always been a constant in the history of Gramil. The company always follows the effective ambient legislation, with the intention to preserve nature for future generations. With this in mind, Gramil was one of the first companies in Brazil to install a filter press in its facility. This aids in the recycling of the water used in our process and prevents the resulting rock debris from being placed directly back into the environment. Through its “Division of reforestation and gardens”, Gramil produces buds of diverse native plants of Brazil, intending to promote the reforestation of the areas next to the quarries. During the last year more than 10.000 buds were planted and for the next 5 years Gramil’s goals are to reforest more than 10,000sqm close to the quarries areas.
In 2008, Gramil received a Recognition Prize by the “Pastoral da Ecologia”
from Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, which is given to people or companies that
make their part to the preservation of the environment. |
